Sports Preview - July 26, 2024

Football:

This weekend the Regionalliga Nord starts its new season, the first round of the district cup is coming up and the final of the Ostfriesland Cup Only The Best will take place.

Regional League:

For the regional league promoted team BSV Kickers, the start of the season has been postponed by a week because the away game at Phönix Lübeck has been postponed. This means that there is another tough test tonight against the upper league promoted team SV Wilhelmshaven. It will be interesting to see whether coach Stefan Emmerling will give all the players another chance to show what they can do, or whether the starting lineup for the home game next Friday against SV Meppen will already be on the pitch. The game will be played at the TuS Pewsum ground. Kick-off is at 6:30 p.m.

District Cup - 1st round

The first round of the district cup is taking place this weekend. SV Hage and Tus Esens will meet this evening. Kick-off in Hage is at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, BW Papenburg travels to GW Spahnharrenstätte (kick-off 3:00 p.m.).

On Sunday, Germania Wiesmoor will face SV Großefehn in the local derby, SpVg Aurich will face TuS Holtriem, FC Zetel will face TuS Strudden, another local derby will be TuS Middels versus SV Wallinghausen, SV Surwold will host Germania Leer and Concordia Ihrhove will play against TV Bunde. All matches will begin at 3:00 p.m.

VfB Uplengen has home advantage against GW Firrel (start Sunday - 16:00)

On Monday from 7:30 p.m. the match between TuRa Westrhauderfehn and SV Thüle will take place.

Ostfriesland-Cup Only The Best 2024

The final of the East Frisia Cup will take place on Saturday at the Aurich Ellernfeld. District league team TuS Pewsum will face East Frisia league team Süderneulander SV, who sensationally beat favorites SV Großefehn. The highly-prized cup will kick off at 6:00 p.m.

On Sunday in the sports time – from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. we will be reporting live from the district cup.
